The Rising, by Frederic Schwartz Architects, pays tribute to those who were killed in the attacks of September 11, 2001. The 80-foot high sculpture, with its intertwined stainless steel rods rising towards the sky, brings together the Westchester County residents who died that day. The base of the memorial, called The Circle of Remembrance, bears the names of the 111 victims and inscriptions provided by their families.
