U.S. Highway 60, near Springerville, Arizona USA
On the Colorado Plateau, just north of the White Mountains, lies the Springerville Volcanic Field one of the most desolate locations in Arizona. The small rounded volcanic cones are overpowered by the huge expanse of the flat Plateau country. The lack of vegetation is due to the rocky volcanic lava rock underlying the whole area. This picture was taken about 10 miles west of Springerville, Arizona.
