Vila Vicosa, Ducal Palace, Noble staircase

The noble staircase, in marble, with the walls covered with marble. The mural painting represents the Taking of Azamor in the victorious expedition commanded by the 4th Duke of Bragança, D. Jaime in 1513. The narrative of Azamor's conquestsa on the murals is divided into 3 panels with the following subjects: Landing, Preparatory of the Siege, Siege of the Square. Due to the type of weaponry and clothing, it is believed that this mural dates from the transition of the century. XVI to XVII, at the time of the duchy of D. Teodósio II (1583-1630)
