Wallduern - Fountain at the castle square

The pilgrimage city of Walldürn is located in the Neckar-Odenwald district, in Baden-Wuerttemberg. Near the Basilica of the middle of the old town is Castle Walldürn on a slight hill. Originally the building complex was a water castle from the 12th century. After the extinction of the family of Walldürn in the 13th century began the decline. From the 15th century the now ruinous water castle was rebuilt into a castle complex. Today, the city administration is housed.
