West Room at Friends Arch Street Meeting

The Arch Street Meetinghouse was built at the beginning of the 19th century to serve as the central meeting place for Philadelphia's Quakers.  It primary function was, and is, to house large gatherings such as the annual sessions of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting.  It does have a congregation (Philadelphia Monthly Meeting) whose Sunday Meetings for Worship are held in a smaller room adjacent to this one.
