Yuanheng Buddhist Temple
Kaohsiung

The temple was originally called Yuansing Temple and later known as Yanzai Temple.According to the literature, it was first established in 1743, and demolished in 1891 entirely due to a fire. After numerous times of movement, it was finally relocated to the current site from the foot of Shoushan, and renamed as “Yuanheng Buddhist Temple”.The goddess worshiped in the temple is the Goddess of Mercy, Guan Yin.The interior design of the temple is simple and elegant, creating a majestic atmosphere.Surrounded by hills and waters, the temple meets the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening.Visitors can overlook the entire city of Kaohsiung from the platform at the front of the temple.
