A 150' aerial view overlooking downtown Ely, Nevada. It was originally a stagecoach station along the Pony Express & Central Overland Route. In 1878, J.W. Long, a native of Ely, Vermont, set up a camp here & called it "Ely". The town also experienced a copper boom when the metal was discovered in 1906, lasting on & off for many decades. As of 2020, the population was 3,924 citizens.
