Firkin Point is a popular rest stop and picnic area found on the banks of Loch Lomond . From here , there are beautiful views looking up the loch to the north and also looking down the length of it to the south .
As Loch Lomond is only about a 30 minute drive from the centre of Glasgow , it's an ideal spot for night photography as it's surprisingly dark considering how close it is to the light pollution of Glasgow's street lights .
Loch Lomond is a very popular place to visit especially in the summer months , particularly for water sports and other water based activities .
It's a particular favourite place for myself to visit when on the aurora hunt .
