This view shows the Crater Glass Flow on the north flank of the Medicine Lake Volcano, California. A nearby pumice crater formed about 1,000 years ago from an eruption & the obsidian eruption came from a less violent eruption. Within the area are a couple of faults that have distinct red cinder deposits capped with white pumice. The background forest partially burned from the Antelope Fire. The fire began from a lightning strike on August 1, 2021 south of Tennant, California & lasted to October 15, 2021, burning a total of 145,632 acres.
