The town of Killarney (Cill Airne) is located on the north eastern shore of Lough Leane. From here you can make many most beautiful trips to the Killarney National Park. The Gap of Dunloe (Bearna an Choimin) is a quite narrow mountain pass southwest of Killarney some 7 miles southwest of Killarney. The traditional way of exploring the Gap of Dunloe is by horse drawn jaunting car. But nowadays you can hire mountain bicycles, which is great fun.
