Lanreath Church, the South Aisle
England

From the outside St Marnarch's Church at Lanreath is quite plain, but once inside a wealth of detail, both old and (relatively) new is there to behold. Look up and you will see a beautiful ceiling in the south aisle. The wagon shape is original, but the decoration is a sympathetic late Victorian restoration in the style of William Morris. The 16th century rood screen, with its intricate carving and much of its original painting is one of the best examples in the whole of Cornwall. The Elizabethan pulpit, although missing some of its early structure is wonderfully decorated. And the Grylls family memorial is a truly spectacular example from the early 17th century.
