This monastery dates back to an old pre-Romanesque hermitage, founded in the 9th century, whose implantation followed isolation criteria. It is located in a narrow valley, difficult to access and far from the paths and inhabited places, inscribed in a magnificent landscape background. The temple has a single nave and a chancel which is the best preserved structure in the cenobium. On the Romanesque façade topped by a gable truncated by an eighteenth-century steeple with two eyes, a beautiful portal opens with a perfect round arch, with a first smooth archivolt and a second exterior, adorned with lancets, in turn surrounded by frieze with geometric decoration. The arch's abacuses were decorated with cordiform motifs, while the tympanum has, at the lower level, a lintel decorated with stylized cruciform flowers and, above it, a hollow Maltese cross, framed by circular perforations arranged in a triangle.
