Exceptionally lonely morning at North Cape, supposedly the northernmost point of Europe.
In reality, the Nordkapp is on an island called Mageröya, not far west a rocky ridge called Knivskjelodden there stands a few meters further north out into the Barents Sea.
But the archipelago Svalbard, Jan Mayen, the Bear Islands and the Russian Franz Josef Islands are yet part of Europe. There at Cape Fligely on Rudolf Island at 81 ° 46 'N is the northernmost piece of Europe really likely.
But anyway, at least here is the northernmost point with road connection to Europe, which is accessible with a normal car. And of course there is the famous North Cape monument, thousands of people make a and pilgrimage each year and enjoy the midnight sun.
