One of the most famous parts of the  Vasilievsky Island is called "Strelka", which means "Arrow", in English. This eastern part of the island features the Old St. Petersburg Stock Exchange and the great Rostral columns. At the "Strelka", you can take great photos of the Neva River, as well as the embankments that surround it. The Hermitage, Peter and Paul Fortress, and several great bridges, make it one of the best places in St. Petersburg to take panoramic photos of St. Petersburg.
