Volcanic boulders and spires occupy the High Peaks trail in Pinnacles National Monument, California.  This overlook provides a view to the southeast where the East Entrance to the monument is located.  Many of the spires are 100' in height, as indicated by other hikers for scale.  Bring a pair of binoculars and be on the lookout for a California condor, which are protected in this area.
