Under the Wonderboom Giant Wild Fig Tree
Pretoria

The Wonderboom original tree trunk is 5,5 m diameter the 1000 year old wild fig tree.

Branches of this trunk spread out, then slowly droop towards the ground, then they send out roots and start a circle of new daughter trunks.

2 of these daughter trunks also started a third generation. Today the Wonderboom has 13 different trunks that cover an area of 1,5 ha. The branches spread over an area 50 m in diameter!
