Ahorn - Castle
Franconie

Ahorn is located on the southern outskirts of Coburg. The name comes from the maple trees, which were formerly in the municipality. Castle and Castle Church are the landmarks of the municipality. The castle appears in Renaissance style with round corner towers. In the courtyard is an octagonal stair tower with a spiral staircase, whose steps are not attached to a column as usual, but on a spindle carved in stone. The castle is privately owned and not open to visitors.
