Aschaffenburg castle Johannisburg 2012
Franconie

Castle Johannisburg in Aschaffenburg was built in 1605-1614 by Georg Ridinger and served until 1803 as a second residence of the archbishops of Mainz and Elector. It features an art gallery, the Vestment Chamber of the Palace Church with ecclesiastical vestments from the Mainz Cathedral, the royal living quarters and the City Palace Museum.
