Catalina Island's only airstrip is a bit of a challenge for your average amateur pilot. In a warning to first time visiting pilots, it is described as "landing on an aircraft carrier that is 1650ft in the air." There is no regular passenger service to Catalina, but a DC3 lands here 6 days per week for mail and parcel delivery.
