Stone circle No.2, Machrie Moor, Arran
Scotland

Machrie Moor, at the west of the Isle of Arran, features a number of closely grouped neolithic and early Bronze Age stone circles, standing stones, burial cairns and cists, as well as hut circles and an extensive field system. None is more impressive than the so-called Circle No.2 with its three upright red sandstone pillars, the tallest of which stands over five metres high.
