Eta Carinae The observatory was founded in 1997 by astronomer Gonzalo Vicino on the outskirts of Villa Serrana. The town does not exceed 150 vacation homes, located mostly in the oldest part of Sierra Alta. The small Astronomical Observatory Foundation of Uruguay where performed "Amateur Astronomy Workshop"is on the outskirts of the town, probably in order not to suffer light pollution at night. In the outlook I could see the red brick building, but does not look very well the small dome of the observatory.
