FDR Statue
Washington, DC

The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial is located between the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials on the south side of the Tidal Basin.  The memorial completed in 1997 is well hidden from view as you drive by on Ohio Drive so use caution if you are driving to the memorial.  I must say that this is the first time I have visited the memorial and I think it is one of the nicest in the city.

The FDR Memorial covers 7.5 acres and is constructed as four outdoor rooms one for each of his terms in office.  There are a variety of themes through the memorial waterfalls and granite abound.  The memorial is well visited and that is why the pano is somewhat incomplete.  There were always folks in front of the FRD statue but if you zoom in you can see FDR and the kids around the statue of Fala.  I’m going to return at night my favorite time to shoot less people and better light....more to follow.
