Klingenberg used to be surrounded by a city wall with three city gates, but most of this has fallen victim to the city's development. The walls between the castle and the old town are still preserved today. The striking tower Brunntorturm is also intact. The basement probably dates from the 13th century, the upper floor with the detention cells from the 16th century. The onion dome is an addition from the 18th century.
