Lohagad is a ancient hill fort located at an elevation of 3400ft in Pune District in Maharashtra, India. The fort was used as a garrison and treasury by Chatrapati Shivaji who captured twice, first in 1648CE and later in 1670CE from the Mughals. The fort was also occupied almost a century later by the famous Peshwa Nana Phadnavis who did extensive repairs to the fort. The Fort has a panoramic view of the surrounding hills including the sister fort of Visapur and the Pawana Lake
