On your first visit it can be quite confusing walking the streets of Medina. Even though the city is quite small, the narrow streets and alleyways somehow make it seem bigger. You may find yourself passing through the same spot twice after circling around without realising. Unless you are a local you will most likely be travelling on foot (or by horse carriage) and it is a great way to spend a few hours walking the streets and exploring. It is in complete opposition to the madness of the Maltese roads and the drivers of this small island. In Medina you are never far from a cafe or restaurant, some with amazing views across to the ocean. A must-see in Malta.
