Meydan Fortress Sivri Beakedpointy Fortress Silifke Vr Mersin 31e
Turkey
It is located 1 km east of İmamlı Neighborhood, which is 12 km to the north of Silifke. The importance of the fortress comes from the fact that it is located on the road to Olba. The fortress overlooking the valley and the nearby plains, were used in the Hellenistic, Late Roman and Early Byzantine Periods. Bastions and watchtowers, cisterns, necropolis area, a chapel and stairs leading down the valley borne on the rocks are among the remains of the fortress. As the northern part of the hill is a cliff, its natural protection is very strong, so there is just one tower on this part. Both bossage and polygonal techniques were implemented in the walls. There are two representations of clubs on top of the towers in the southwest and southeast. There is also an eagle relief standing on a block stone with a niche. Rock toms in the necropolis area are decorated with a wide array of reliefs.
