Münsterschwarzach, Cloister Church, Interior
Franconie

Münsterschwarzach is a Benedictine monastery and abbey in Fraconia near the river Main. The first abbey was founded in the 12th century and it was dissolved in 1803 during the secularisation in Bavaria. The second abbey was founded in 1913. The church was built from 1935 to 1938. During World War II the abbey was confiscated by the Nazis and it was reopened after the war.
