Porta Coeli is an old church and museum in a town called San Germán in Puerto Rico. It was built a long time ago, in the year 1609, by some people who followed a religion called Dominican. They used the building as a school and a place to live, but later it was used as a prison and a hospital. The name Porta Coeli means “Door of Heaven” in a language called Latin. The museum has many things that are related to religion, like paintings, statues, and carvings of holy people. Porta Coeli is very important for the history and culture of Puerto Rico.
