Owens River Oxbow
California

Originating from the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the Owens River flows out from the Bishop Vocanic Tablelands. Here it slows to a meander to create beautiful oxbow patterns and lush wetlands in a desert environment west of Bishop, California. This oasis supports a rich collection of wildlife and is a hot spot for birds.
