The "Spitalgasse" (hospital lane) in "Rothenburg ob der Tauber" leads through the gates of the hospital's Bastion, will continue north to the "Schmiedgasse" and finally runs directly to the marketplace. At the point where the hospital lane ends and the Lower Schmiedgasse begins, there is a fork in the road, the "Plönlein".
