Evening on the San Juan River east of Aztec
New Mexico
The San Juan is the second-largest tributary of the Colorado River (after the Green River). It flows 383 miles (615 km) from the San Juan Mountains (part of the Rocky Mountains) to Lake Powell. The only impoundment is Navajo Dam, just upstream from this location.
