Cheddar Caves, Somerset by Jon Rowley

The interior of Gough's Cave, Cheddar gorge which is 90 metres deep and 2.135 kilometres long underneath the Mendip Hills, in Cheddar, Somerset, England, June 1 2013. The caves were the location of the discovery of Cheddar Man in 1903 which to this date remains Britain’s oldest complete human skeleton. In 2010 further human bones from the cave were examined which dated them to around the end of the ice age 14,700 years ago.
