Vila Vicosa, Ducal Palace, Hall of the Giant
Portugal

The Hall of the Giant features a ceiling painted in the 17th century, depicting the biblical episode of David and the Giant, framing the arms of the Dukes of Bragança. On the walls are an ashlar of 17th century figuartive tiles, polychrome in blue and yellow.

Fresh painted ceiling, around 1600, can be seen, inspired by engravings from the period, the biblical episodes of David and the Giant, surrounding the arms of the Dukes of Bragança inscribed on the central panel.

The Talavera de la Reina tile panel, attributable to Fernando Lazoya and dating from 1602, was offered by the Constable of Spain, D. Juan de Velasco, at the wedding of his daughter, D. Ana de Velasco, with Duke D. Theodosius II

Century furniture. XVIII walnut and pau-santo, particularly the comfortable table, exemplifies the virtuosity that national furniture achieved at the time.

The pastel painting, by reu D. Carlos, includes some of his most important works such as Sobreiro and Moroccan.
