White Domes Loop is a sandy 1.1 mile trail that leads past distinctive sandstone formations with brilliant and subtle contrasting colors. Many believe it is the finest hike in the park. It is also home to a former 1965 movie set for ‘The Professionals’ that starred Burt Lancaster, Lee Marvin and Claudia Cardinale. A small part of the movie set is still there along with a stone monument and sign that explains the history of commercial filming in the park. That movie was responsible for the development of the road to this section of the park. Valley of Fire State Park is the oldest park in Nevada. Located 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas, it is an easily accessible and popular hiking destination.
