1938 begann im Rahmen der Bauarbeiten auf dem Reichsparteitagsgelände die Errichtung des 58 Hektar großen „Märzfeldes“, auf dem Aufmärsche und Wehrsportübungen präsentiert werden sollten. Es lag im Nordwesten des heutigen Stadtteils Langwasser.
