Acton Burnell Castle, Shropshire
England

Acton Burnell Castle is a ruined fortified manor house located in a rural part of Shropshire. It was built between 1284-1293 by Robert Burnell, Bishop of Bath and Wells. He was a friend and Lord Chancellor to King Edward I. Despite its isolated location, it twice hosted the English Parliament, in 1283 and 1285.

By 1420 the castle had been become abandoned and left a ruin.
