Bergamo: Almenno San Bartolomeo, Rotonda San Tomé - St Thomas Rotunda

This small Church represents one of the most interesting examples of Romanesque style in Northern Italy. Dedicated to St. Thomas the Apostle, it was built in the 12th century over a previous rotunda.

The circular structure of this Church was extremely rare in the eleventh and twelfth centuries. In this 360 Image one can appreciate the pyramidal composition based on the three cylinders one on top of the other, becoming narrower from the bottom up.
The rotunda is not far form the city of Bergamo and in the surrounding area are organized various events connected to the religious and medieval period.
