Black Cuillins, Skye

The Cuillin Hills are some of the most dramatic mountain ranges in Britain. There are two Cuillin ranges, separated by Glen Sligachan, with differing terrain that attracts both experienced mountain climbers and casual day walkers alike. The Black Cuillin is characterised by tall, dark, jagged peaks formed by volcanic activity in contrast to the granite Red Cuillin, which were formed by glacial erosion that gives them a more gentle and rounded appearance.

The Isle of Skye is the largest of the Inner Hebrides with a wealth of striking scenery.
