The Chirikayen Tepui, also known as the Laying Indian, is located in the eastern part of Canaima National Park, a few hours of trekking from the village of Santa Elena de Uairen.

At its top large quantities of parrots (Chirika in local Pemon language) are housed which gives origin to its name "Chirikayen: the place of parakeets".

From its summit may be envisaged unrivaled combination of landscapes such as savannas, forests, rivers, morichales and other tepuyes. Can also see the remains of a house whose walls were glass and served as a military observation post in earlier times.
