Colombia is a country full of natural wonders, spectacular scenery, magic and mystery filled sites hidden in the most remote places worth visiting although often reach them can be considered an extraordinary adventure of the high level of abandonment our regions suffer, poor access roads and large areas of extreme poverty suffered by the people that make living in them can become epic stories deserve to be told.
Regions such as the Amazon, the Serrania de la Macarena, Caño Cristales, Desert Tatacoa, snowcapped mountains, moors and valleys, rugged mountains, beautiful beaches hidden in the two oceans that nature gave us, are examples of how much we have but often we do not appreciate. Today narrate them a trip you make to the Alta Guajira, a magical and dreamy region, surrounded by a desert cooking raw and strikes the eye but does not allow faint, because as you progress through the tortuous paths cover this difficult region deserts, every turn of the road, the scenery changes, and although it seemed repeated for he who knows not see, are actually new world that demonstrate that this land is harsh and unforgiving, but for humans, especially for Ethnicity Wayuu who inhabit the aptly named "Sandman" are the only beings capable of living there, showing it gives, of loving a land which many would leave fleeing, but is their homeland, the land of their ancestors, and the only land they have to offer future generations.
I invite both of these lines to live a magical, difficult world, but full of color and adventure, magic and epic visit to the Alta Guajira Colombiana.
NAZARETH, AN OASIS IN THE DESERT
Nazareth is located in the Serrania de la Macuira, a region that contains a unique ecosystem formed by mountain ranges whose highest point reaching 800 meters above sea level. Its vegetation is of type Bsque Dwarf Fog, which captures moisture from the winds coming from the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Maracaibo and makes the magic water that cuts permanent hundreds of streams that never dried. In this sense, the Macuira is an Oasis in the desert with great potential, and a National Park protected by the State.
To get there from Bay Hondita must travel about 90 km trails with no signage, so it depends on knowledge of the region with the drivers of the vehicles that provide services to tourism operators.
If it adds to the distance traveled to get to Cabo de la Vela from Riohacha and from there to Bay Hondita, we can say that Nazareth is about 362 km away from Riohacha.
In all the way from Uribía to the Alta Guajira no garages and mounted tires, why vehicles traveling to the area must be in good mechanical condition techno. Much of the route is no sign of cellular telephony company Comcel.
In Nazareth there are only five tourism entrepreneurs, one of them a lodge more workers than for tourists.
There is a hostel highly developed and unique in the region with 24 rooms with two beds each and a kiosk for 100 hammocks, two swimming pools, a restaurant and a good level of comfort called Mulamana.
At around the Wayuu culture breathes, is the only area where actors expressed their developing actions to promote the culture of the region, but still have a long way to develop this product has a high projection and potentiality.
Of the three regions visited is the only one with qualified guides, for entering the Natural Park Macuira is mandatory to go to guide you pay directly, but have been formed by the Natural Park.
The great potential of Nazareth is Ecotourism and Ethnic Tourism.
The Macuira has many attractions, but cross them takes time, and often operators do not give them the opportunity to tourists to visit, visit these three points required minimum of six days.
The return of Nazareth to Uribía takes approximately 5 hours in summer as they are not joined Bay Hondita or the Cabo de la Vela, in winter this journey can last up to two days due to seasonal runoff as roads become impassable .
The road is pure trails, but every time you go on the way the landscape changes, filled areas trupillo or cacti, sand and desert everywhere, flat spaces only stone or sand, this is the world of Wayuu, if the views, learn to love, and entenderes La Guajira is unique and requires the support of all.
