Double Locks has to be Exeter's most famous pub. Located on the canal towpath a couple of miles out of the city, it is a superb place to relax with a beer and some good food.

Though owned by Youngs of London, it still has a range of independent beers available on tap and an outdoors barbeque through the summer months.

No need to drive there as it is on one of Exeter's excellent cycle routes, and immediately to the north west, construction is proceeding on the Exeter Lakes project. This will see two new fishing lakes opening in Spring 2011 with full disabled access.
