Echo Peaks And Lee's Backbone
This view was taken on a hike south of the Crown benchmark after having reached the top of the Spencer Trail. From here the Echo Peaks are easily recognizable as is Lee's Backbone. Lee's Backbone is the gray sandstone rim between Echo Peak and the Colorado River at the Lee's Ferry boat launch. Lee's Backbone was so named because of the bone-jarring ride experienced by those riding in wagons over the rough sandstone rim of the Honeymoon Trail.
