Exhibition 3plus3
which will take place from 12.6. - 20.6. 2014 is devoted to presenting theses of students of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Technical University in Brno, Sculpture Studio 2, leading prof. Acad. sculptures. Jan Ambrůz and the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, studio IN: intermedia and multimedia, the head of the studio Doc. Ilona Németh, DLA.
The project showcases the work of six artists, students of the final master's degree. Branka Uljarevič, Michal Orság and Matthew Řízek representing sculpture studio 2, with a focus on contemporary sculpture, which may not be understood in the traditional sense. Lucie Kotvanová, Pavlina Komoňová a Christian Németh present IN studio that focuses primarily on intermediate overlaps. These two studios with individual programs share common elements, primarily working with space and various art media, spatial thinking, installation for specific locations, creating objects and sculptures related to site-specific conditions of space. These mentioned elements have become an important starting point for the selection of the location where the work will be carried out and presented.
Curatorial concept works on the theme of blending and transformation. It focuses on the penetration and uncertainties forms of spatial creation. Problematic issues of mutual mixing media and categorical confusion sculptures, objects and installations in relation to architectural space. The transformation touches issues of transformation and rendering of natural phenomena, environmental interventions in the landscape, or social phenomena such as the topic of morality, sexuality and religion.
The exhibition will be held in the premises of the old abandoned factory hall Ponava (Poděbradova 141, 612 00, Brno). These industrial areas are carefully selected from two fundamental reasons. The first is their spatial disposition enabling implementation monumentálnějšího character. Another reason is the effort to revitalize and tangents. During the exhibition there will be guided tours and lectures, will aim to reflection problems of industrial buildings, revitalization and the possibility of their use, and their role in shaping the collective memory of the place, its social and political conditions.
