The Myjavská Rudava primeval forest is a unique forest ecosystem located in western Slovakia, in the Myjavská Hills. This primeval forest is remarkable for its rich biodiversity and natural, nearly untouched environment, where old beech, oak, ash, and maple trees can be found. Some trees reach impressive ages of over 200 years, and many are naturally dying, providing habitats for various species of insects, birds, and small mammals. The forest has been preserved in part due to the flooding of the Rudava River, which has shaped the landscape and prevented significant human intervention. The area is protected, meaning there are no interventions like logging or commercial exploitation. Due to minimal human impact, Myjavská Rudava serves as a natural laboratory for studying the natural development of forests. Additionally, the primeval forest supports the water regime of the region, as it can retain large amounts of water, which is important for the local climate. This area is among Slovakia's national natural reserves and offers a glimpse into pristine, unspoiled nature, serving as a rare reminder of the original state of our forests.

This panorama is not meant as a tourist attraction, but primarily to raise awareness so that people know something so magnificent still exists in the Carpathian forests. This, in turn, brings people’s attention to protecting these last fragments of primeval forests from illegal logging and the loss of something irreplaceable and priceless.
