Aya Thekla, which is one of the oldest centers of Christianity, is located 5 km to the south of downtown Silifke District. At first, the city served Christians with a church, now called the “underground sanctuary”, in a natural cave. Apart from the underground church, the Thekla Church with three naves (460-470), which was built after the death of the Ave, Kubbeli Church (Zenon Church), covered cisterns, a public bath, Northern Church, necropolis area and the sacred road can be seen in the site.
