Iona Nunnery ruins, Argyll

Iona is a small island with 125 inhabitants, located close to the Isle of Mull in the Inner Hebrides. The Augustinian nunnery was founded in 1200, around the same time as the nearby Benedictine Abbey. It is one of only two Augustinian Orders in Scotland and one of the best-preserved medieval nunneries in Britain. Much of the ruins date from the 14th century.
