The refectory was built between 1517 and 1518 by master Leonardo Vaz and his officers. With its polinervated and dejected vault, it clearly exemplifies the taste of the Manueline era. Beneath thick strands of stone, the walls are covered with an ashlar of tiles from 1780-1785
