The Lomonosov's Moscow State University
Russia

The Lomonosov's Moscow State University is one of the oldest universities in the country.

In 1953 the Moscow state University received a new building - high-rise 36 floors on the Sparrow Hills. There are many interesting facts and rumors related to this building. So, originally the house was supposed to be crowned by not the spire but the gold statue of Stalin. However, shortly before the end of construction, the Soviet leader died, and it was decided to replace the statue on the spire.

Huge funds were allocated for this project, the best scientists and architects designed it, that's why she is held firmly on the shaky ground of the hills. The strength of the structure is due to the large foundation constructions: the building dates back almost as much as it rises above the ground. Interesting is the fact that for the construction of the building were paroled a number of prisoners well-versed in the building.

The watch on one of the side towers of the Main building is considered to be the largest in Moscow. The dial diameter is 9 meters. Their Minute hand with a length of 4.1 meters is twice as long as the Kremlin Chimes.
