Rose and Crown, A Pub with no Beer

A pub with no beer!

It would have been unheard of just twenty years ago for a pub to close for lack of business but now it is commonplace, they are going out of business throughout the country almost daily. And this beautiful public house, the Rose and Crown in Ilford, has met with such a fate. Well there are many reasons for this. Perhapse the reader would like to research them, but here a statement of fact will have to suffice.

Interesting too is the Google Map associated with this panorama. In my photographs there is a hording to the left of the Rose and Crown which presumably surrounds a construction site. The maps satilite view shows a roofed over building. Question: Was the building demollished prior to April 2008 when I took the photographs or was it built subsequently. That all depends when Google had its photographs taken!

NB The flyover seen at the bottom of the hill carries the North Circular Road, the A406, over Ilford Hill where it becomes Romford Road. Take a look at the map.
