Maastricht Vrijthof Servatius

At the council of Sardica (343 AC) Sarbatius (Servatius) respresented the holy trinity view of western emperor Flavius Julius Constans Augustus of the Roman empire; the creation is from the Father, through the Son and in the Holy Spirit. Later the Biscchops seat, Episcopal See (episcopalis sedes) was established in Maastricht Servatius, said to be a cousin of Jesus Christ coming from Fenuste, southeast of Damascus (Syria); founded the Basilica of Our Lady/Servatius in Maastricht. in a crypt dating from the 6th century, his relics are preserved in a chest. This 'Noodkist' is carried around town during times of peril or else every seven years during the day of 'Heiligdomsvaart'.
